Spelling Bee Finals

Golden Walk Shopping Centre, located in the heart of Germiston, proudly hosted its first annual Spelling Bee Competition on the 30 August 2025, a campaign rooted in our commitment to community upliftment and the power of education. This year, the initiative secured over 850 student applications across schools in our region, with 150 juniors shortlisted for preliminary rounds. From there, the top 30 young spellers emerged, showcasing the incredible literacy talent within our community.

The competition brought together more than 300 learners in both junior and senior rounds, creating a platform that encourages reading, builds confidence, and inspires a lifelong love for learning. The campaign reflects Golden Walk’s vision of being more than just a shopping destination, we are a place where the community grows, connects, and thrives.

We are especially proud to announce our 2025 Spelling Bee Champions:

• Tsholofelo Magano – Senior category winner, receiving R12 000 for herself and R10 000 for Sizwe Secondary School.
  
  
• Lethabo Mositsa – Junior category winner, receiving R12 000 for himself and R10 000 for Thulasizwe Primary School.

These exceptional learners will now advance to the National Spelling Bee Competition at Sun City 2025, representing both their schools and our Golden Walk community with pride.
